Freeport- Frieda R. Julius, 94, of Freeport, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at FHN Memorial Hospital after living at the Lena Nursing Home for the past year.
Born July 21, 1910 in Ridott Twp. she was the daughter of Henry A. and Anna (Bornemeier) Meier. She married William F. Julius February 8, 1933 and he died October 3, 1990. They farmed during their marriage until 1960 when they moved to Freeport. She then worked for W. T. Grant for 12 years and later at the Freeport Junior and Senior High Schools
Frieda was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ, having been baptized and confirmed there. When living at Lincoln Towers she was a member of the Lincolnnaire Chorus. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo, crocheting, crafts, and her family.
Surviving is her son, Donald (Gloria) Julius of Lena; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Julius of San Benito, TX; 1 brother, Harry (Lois) Meier of Rockford; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sons, Eugene and Richard; one daughter-in-law, Jean Julius; 2 brothers, Karl and Robert Meier.
Funeral service will be Saturday 1:30 p.m. at St. John United Church of Christ with Reverend Donnley Dutcher officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Saturday 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the church.
