Gary L. Fetter, age 74 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home Monday, December 26, 2016. He was born February 16, 1942; the son of the late Norman and Leota (Brake) Fetter. He married Glenda Cummins on November 21, 1964.
Gary graduated from Freeport High School with the class of 1960. From 1960 to 1961, he attended Devry University in Chicago, IL. He served in the United States Airforce from 1962 to 1966. Gary worked for his father at Package Production Inc. from 1966 to 1971. He then worked for Honeywell until retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Elks Club in Freeport. He loved going to Elkhart Lake, WI to watch sport car races.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Glenda Fetter of Freeport; son, Wayne (Lisa) Fetter of Freeport; special nieces and nephews, Jessie, Cassie, Ava & Aslynn; lifelong friends, Adrian Andree, Leroy May and Don Glasser; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 31st at 4:00 pm at Walker Mortuary in Freeport with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established for Friends Forever Humane Society. Condolences may be shared with his family at www.walkermortuary.com.
