Gene Goodrich, 70, of Dakota died Monday November 8, 2010 at his home. Born October 19, 1940 in Freeport he was the son of Orie and Lucille (Baldauf) Goodrich. On September 7, 1963 he married Janice L. Harvey she preceded him in death on January 7, 2009. He worked for the Dakota School District as a custodian for 20 yrs. retiring in 2005. For over 15yrs Gene kept score books for boys basketball and football games and umpired slow pitch softball. He did adding and totaling of farm record books for FBFM for over 30yrs. He enjoyed going to Eagle Nest Lodge in Minnesota fishing for over 25 yrs and thought the world of his two youngest granddaughters McKenzie and McKayla. He is survived by three daughters Niccole (Dan) Riemer of Dakota, Teresa (Scott) Zettle of Freeport, Michele (Pat) Gillespie of Pecatonica; 5 granddaughters McKenzie and McKayla Riemer of Dakota, Carrie (Kyle) Neels of Freeport, Angelica Jacobs of Freeport, Whitney Jacobs of Tempe, AZ; grandson Matthew Zettle of Monroe, WI; 2 great granddaughters Maryssa Neels of Freeport and Keira Hiveley of Freeport; brother Larry (Pam) Goodrich of Pearl City and Loyal pet cat Ebony.
