George J. Goldsmith , 75 of Freeport passed away at home with his wife by his side on Tuesday, November 28, 2022.  He was born March 18, 1947 in Freeport to the late John and Viola (Kuntz) Goldsmith.  He was a veteran of the Air Force and a member of the VFW.  He worked at Kelly Springfield until his retirement.  George loved fishing and old movies.

Surviving him are his longtime companion and caregiver, Patricia Turnham; son, Gabriel (Paula) Goldsmith of Freeport and daughter, Megan Bryant of Freeport.

Preceding him in death are his parents; 2 sisters, Barbara Goldsmith and Eve Pitterle as well as 1 brother John Goldsmith.

His final resting place will be at Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum with a memorial service to be held on  Saturday, March 18th at 1pm at Walker Mortuary.
