George J. Lamm, age 80 of Freeport, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at St. Joseph Village in Freeport. George was born on December 19, 1944 in Freeport, IL; the son of Bernard and Gladys (Jones) Lamm. George married Helen "Rexanna" (Wilhelms) Lamm on May 20, 1972.

George grew up just outside of Freeport, and he was a graduate of Forreston High School in 1962. He served in the Illinois National Guard for 5 years. George worked at Structo Manufacturing in Freeport and then worked at Honeywell or Micro Switch in Freeport for over 30 years.

George enjoyed bowling and watching football, always cheering for his beloved Chicago Bears. George also liked driving, and he went on many memorable family road trips and camping trips. George adored the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He never missed a single milestone or special event in the lives of his loved ones. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors.

He is survived by his wife, Helen "Rexanna" Lamm of Freeport; son, Daniel (Rebecca) Lamm of Mt. Horeb, WI; daughter Erika (Stephen) Aho of Freeport; four grandchildren: Kassidy Aho, Hannah Aho, Chloe Lamm, and John Lamm; sisters-in-law, Karen O'Connor and Debra Wilhelms; brother-in-law, Leon Wilhelms.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Gladys Lamm; brothers-in-law: James "Jim" O'Connor and Arnold "Arnie" Wilhelms; sister-in-law, Maureen Wilhelms.

George and his family greatly appreciated the excellent care he received from the staff at St. Joseph Village of Freeport, Northern Illinois Hospice, and FHN Memorial Hospital and would like to express their heartfelt thanks.
