George E. Rolinger, 92, of Tucson, formerly of Freeport, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, in Tucson, Arizona, after a short illness. Born June 26, 1920, in Freeport, the son of Louis and Odilea (Schiestel) Rolinger. He married Eleanore M. Bordner on September 20, 1941, in Freeport.
George was an amazing man who loved life, was willing to help anyone and will be remembered with pride by his family and friends.
George was Sales Manager for Kelly Williamson Oil Company for 40 years retiring June 1985. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in Panama during World War II. George was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his daughter, Becky (Harvey) Miller of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son, Terrance (Gail) Rolinger of Nogales, Arizona; son Craig (Nancy) Rolinger of East Moline, Illinois; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous special nieces and nephews; and friend Martha of Tucson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers; five sisters, Sister Amadeus, Dolly, Margie, Trona, and Babe; and grandson Troy Enrique Rolinger.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a memorial service at a later date. Inurnment of his cremated remains will be in the Grace Episcopal Church Columbarium.
At George's request a Memorial has been established in lieu of flowers to the Sisters of Providence - OCA; St. Mary of the Woods, IN 47876.
