George William Wiegmann, 83, of Freeport died Monday October 29, 2007 at his home. Born July 25, 1924 in Freeport he was the son of Charles and Blossem (Phillips) Wiegmann. He and Dorothy "Dori" Meinheit were married November 17, 1977 in Freeport. He worked as the maintenance supervisor for the Stephenson Nursing Center for many years.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy "Dori" of Freeport, one brother Phillip (Doris) Wiegmann of Manchester TN; special brother in laws and sister in laws Dennis and Linda Meinheit, Donna and Brian Ostrihonsky, Brenda and Dave Shelton, Dean and Sharon Schroder; many nieces and nephews including special nieces and nephews Adam Sneek of Shannon, Melissa Ostrihonsky of Byron, Ashley Ostrihonsky of Adeline, Austin Schroder of Oregon, Chad and Brittney Meinheit, Jason and Nick Meinheit, Amy Chamberlin, Barry, Gerry and Brandi Olsen, John Wiegmann and family, Ray Heister and family; special family Kenny and Cathy Wheeler, Lance Wheeler and family and Rebekah Wheeler and special little friend Miss Glory.
He is preceded in death by 4 brother, 4 sisters, mother in law Mae Siefken, father in law Don Schroder and brother in law Bob Meinheit, niece Janet Heister.
Visitation will be 5pm until 8pm Thursday at the Walker Mortuary and Cremation Services.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Peace in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Diane Jochum of FHN Hospice officiating.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
