Gerald L. Heine, 86, of Freeport, died Saturday, February 27, 2016, at his home.
Born February 12, 1930 he was the son of Lorton and Geraldine (Killian) Heine. He married Darleen B. Soliday June 3, 1951.
Gerald was owner and operator of Heine Plastic Inc. from 1940 to 2000.
Gerald served with the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion and the Freeport Elks Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Darleen of Freeport; his children, LuAnn (Larry) Handfelt of Warren, Barry L. (Dianne) Heine and Brian B. Heine both of Freeport; his grandchildren, Jami (Tina) Thruman, Brittany (Duane) Enos, Eric, Shannon, and Crystal Handfelt, and Jessica Polfer; his great grandchildren, Dale and Ryan Thruman, and Natalie Enos; several step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Cherie Heine.
Private family only services will be held.
Interment will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
