Gerald L. Kneubuehl, age 83 of Rock City, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Monroe Clinic Hospice Home in Monroe, WI. He was born October 14, 1937; the son of the late Jacob and Lucille (Meier) Kneubuehl. He was a 1955 graduate of Dakota High School. Gerald married Melissa Sue Rouse on April 8, 1956.

He worked at MicroSwitch in Freeport until retiring in 2000. Gerald was an avid sports fan, especially of the Dakota Indians, Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls. He also loved to watch the Sox lose. He enjoyed keeping track of the weather. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wonderful family and his kitties.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Sue Kneubuehl of Rock City; daughters, Kathi (Kevin) Soukup of Freeport; Jodi (Samuel) Schoonhoven of Freeport, and Lori (Matthew) Brose of Davis, IL; grandchildren: Carrie (John) Heeren and their daughter, Maci; Garrett Fritz; Cameron Brose; Breanne (Terry Carlton and his daughter, Rosie) Schoonhoven and her son, Bodhi; Hannah (Eric) Hainchek and their son, Sammy; Kevin Schoonhoven; and Eric Schoonhoven; and brother, Richard Kneubuehl. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family service will be held at the Dakota Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Dakota High School Athletic Program. The Daughenbaugh Funeral Home of Dakota is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
