Gerald "Gerry" K. Meier , age 72 of Freeport, IL, passed away at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was born June 13, 1949; the son of the late Alfred and Myrna (Koch) Meier. He was a graduate of Pearl City High School.

He was a REALTOR® with Preferred Real Estate of Illinois, and former REALTOR® with Barrett Inc., REALTORS® and Hersh REALTORS®.  He was also a former employee of Lee's Grocery Store. In his professional career, he provided excellent customer service to his clients and was well respected for his knowledge, thoroughness and trustworthiness.

He was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and enjoyed worshipping and the gatherings with his fellow parishioners.   Gerry was honored and proud to serve on the Church Council.

Gerry developed many valued friendships throughout his life and was a trusted friend to many.  He was a good soul that put others first.

Gerry is survived by numerous cousins and friends.  He will be missed and the memories will be our treasured gift. Gerry is predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Myrna (Koch) Meier.

Visitation is on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Walker Mortuary. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peach Church, 2700 W. Stephenson St., Freeport, IL with Pastor Karen Tews officiating. There will be a visitation before the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Gerry donated his eyes to Eversight.
