Freeport – Gerald Millam, 88, passed away peacefully at Manor Court of Freeport on September 23, 2021.

He is survived by his five children, Kim (Patrick) VanBuskirk of Freeport; Wendy (Mark) Beam of Cisco, Texas; Scott (Connie McKee) of Rockford, IL; Steven of Freeport, IL; and Terence (Debbie) of Freeport, IL.; one sister, Linda (Steve) Gross of Holland, MI; 8 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

Gerald served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-1957 and had a 40-year career at Micro Switch, Freeport, IL as a tool and die maker.

His death was preceded by his spouse, Joanne, who he was married to for 58 blessed years; his parents, Willard and Dorothy Millam, one brother, and one sister.

Gerald loved to spend time with his family and had many interests.  He enjoyed the outdoors, was a great fisherman, and made many beautiful things out of wood.  He was a sweet, positive person.

Services will be Saturday, October 2 ^nd beginning at 11am at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Willis R. Schwichtenberg officiating.  A memorial has been established in his name.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com
