Gerald L. Rausch, 73, of Freeport, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born September 24, 1941 in Freeport, he was the son of Leo and Elizabeth (Zamzow) Rausch. He married Cheryl Ommodt July 7, 1963.
Gerald was a Journeyman Pipefitter for Rockford Local 23 spending most of his career working for Mechanical, Inc. of Freeport.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl of Freeport; his son, Daniel (Jacqueline) Rausch of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Giselle Roldao, Eleonor Roldao, and Alberto Pinto.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Forestine Rausch.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Reverend Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church.
