Freeport-Gerald G. Schleich, 80, of Freeport, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born January 13, 1924 in Freeport he was the son of George J. and Elizabeth (Kinsella) Schleich. He married Helen A. Huesing September 11, 1954 in Freeport.
He worked at Micro Switch, Krafts, Freeport Motors, Fairbanks Morse, L.E. Peck Accounting, Lindgren Callihan Van Osdol & Company Ltd., and then Schleich Accounting Services.
His memberships included, St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd & 4th Degree, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
An avid bowler he also enjoyed bingo.
Surviving are his wife, Helen of Freeport; son, David (Cynthia) Schleich of Buffalo Grove; four daughters, Anita (Richard) Olsen of Estherville, Iowa, Patricia (Greg) Aaby and Rita Schleich both of Freeport; Mary (Robert) Pleticha of Elgin; three grandchildren, Amanda Schleich, Benjamin and Kari Aaby; 1 brother, Karl (Beadie) Schleich of Freeport; one sister, Mary Beth (Joe) Clouser of Milton, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews.
His parents; 1 son, Gerald J. Schleich; 1 brother, LaVerne Schleich; preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be Monday 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Burt Absalon officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. at Walker Mortuary where at 5 p.m. there will be a scripture service and Monday 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.
