Obituary
Freeport-Geraldine M. Plapp, 85, of Freeport, died Saturday, December 16, 2006, at Freeport Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Born February 1, 1921 in New Kirk, Iowa she was the daughter of Nick and Minnie (Voss) Oosting. She married Calvin O. Plapp August 8, 1942 and he preceded her in death on September 8, 1984. She married Gayle R. Plapp November 16, 1991.
Geraldine worked for Dr. Helmut A. Awender for 30 years.
A member of Second Presbyterian Church she taught Sunday school for many years.
Surviving is her husband, Gayle of Freeport; 3 sons, Dale (Kathy) Plapp of Saugatuck Douglas, MI, Allan L. (Kathleen) Plapp of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Michael J. (Sophie) Plapp of Scottsdale, Az; one sister, Marlys Dorsey of Freeport; one brother, Erwin Oosting of Westmont; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband.
Funeral service will be Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Robert Conner officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established in her name.
