Freeport-Gertrude M. Munz, 78, of Freeport, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born February 3, 1926 in Adeline she was the daughter of Hans and Mary (Krull) Veer. She married Gerald T. Munz and he preceded her in death.
She worked at Micro Switch for 15 years retiring in 1987.
A member of the Ladies of the Moose she was past College of Regent. A member of the Ladies of the Eagles she was a past Madam President. She was past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are two brothers, Ollie (Judy) Veer of Lena and Harry (Carol) Veer of New Hampshire; one sister, Dorothy (Bud) Schmelzer of Freeport; one sister in-law, Joyce Veer of Freeport; 9 nieces; 2 nephews; numerous great nieces and great nephews; special friend Michael "Butch" Hoskinson of Freeport.
Her parents; husband; and 3 brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Mark Luepke of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary where at 7 p.m. there will be a Ladies of the Moose memorial service.
