Gloria L. Mutchler, age 63 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. She was born March 10, 1957 to Dwayne and Wilma (Chandler) Reed. She had formerly been married to Dennis Elgin and to Craig Mutchler.

Gloria retired from the Stephenson County Sheriff's office after several years of service. She enjoyed playing on a dart league with her sons. Gloria also loved crafting and was known for her blankets. She had a booth for her crafts at Hidden Treasures in Rockford, IL where she was known as Grandma Glo.

She is survived by her mother, Wilma Reed of Freeport; sons, Douglas (Crystal) Elgin of Freeport and Blake (Alaina) Mutchler of Pearl, MS; grandchildren, Abigail, Katelynn, Blair, Trinity, Anna, Caroline, Daelyn, and Emma Grace; brother, David (Dawn) Reed of Cedarville, IL; aunt, Ruth Ann Lower; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Dwayne Reed; grandson, Blake Adam Mutchler, Jr.; and sister, Colleen.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21 ^st at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Rios presiding. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
