Freeport- Gordon Lee Sarb, 78 of Freeport died Saturday March 10, 2007 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe. Born December 14, 1928 in Westfield WI he was the son of Harry and Elizabeth (Long) Sarb. On July 26, 1952 he and Francine Jacobson were married in Monona, Wi.
Mr. Sarb was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Madison where he received his Bachelor's and Masters degrees. He taught at Highland Community College for 16yrs. Memberships include Golden K and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening and volunteering for different organizations.
He is survived by his wife Francine of Freeport; two daughters Susan (Wayne Rudis) Sarb of Highland Park, IL
Mary (Tom Flynn) Sarb of Chicago, IL; three step grandchildren Kathryn, Neil and Michael Rudis of Darien, IL; several cousins and beloved cat Miss Kitty.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with the Msgr. P. William McDonnell officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 pm with a Scripture service at 7:00pm at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Freeport.
