Baileyville-Harold F. Meinen, 80, of Baileyville, died Friday, January 28, 2005 at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born March 20, 1924 in Baileyville he was the son of Fred and Julia (Driscoll) Meinen. He married Florence Miller October 11, 1947 in Kewanee.
Harold was a lifelong resident of Baileyville. He attended Baileyville and Forreston schools. A World War II Army veteran he was discharged in 1946.
He retired from Furst-McNess in 1986.
Harold enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, Florence of Baileyville; sons, Gerald (Eva) Meinen of Forreston and Roger (Diane) Meinen of Freeport; grandchildren, Jennifer (Terry) Knott of Rockford, Jodie (Rick) Behrens of Peru, Stephanie (David) Harridge of Mt. Carroll, Trisha (Ben) Monigold of Jackson, Wyoming, Mike Nicodemus of Chicago; 9 great grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend John Tilstra of Baileyville Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be in Cranes Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 10 a.m. until time of service at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established in his name.
