Harriet Rose Butler, 81, of Freeport died Monday April 19, 2010 at Freeport Rehab and Health Care. Born October 29, 1928 in St. Louis, MO she was the daughter of James and Ann (Devereaux) Burdette. She was a graduate of Eureka High School, Eureka, MO and Rubican Business College, St. Louis, MO. She and Thomas Butler were married January 13, 1951 he preceded her in death in 1989. Harriet loved being with her family especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed cooking, cross stitch, reading and puzzles. Harriet appreciated all the love and support from her new friends at Freeport Rehab and Health Care. She is survived by daughters Bridget A. (Gary) Madison, Colleen M. (J. Scott) Anderson both of Freeport; sons Thomas G. Butler III, Shawn P. (Brenda) Butler both of Rockford; grandchildren Eric P. Madison, Jon T. (Wendy) Madison, Katherine M. (Berin) Jackson, Elizabeth A. Madison, Ian M. (Ashley Jankiewicz) Anderson, Heather R. Anderson all of Freeport; Great grandchild Brayden H. Jackson of Freeport; sisters Margaret A. Brockland of Miami, FL, Elizabeth L. Courtney of Valley Park, MO; good friends Dorothy (Dot) Kettler of Ballwin, MO, Jeanne George of Bloomington, MN and Dorothy Allen of Naperville.
She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas G. Butler Jr. on February 18, 1989, son Kevin M. Butler on July 5, 2008 granddaughters Kristen M. and Hillary E. Anderson, brother James and sisters Florence, Jeanne and Patricia.
