Harry "Mickey" M. Campbell, age 75 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 surrounded by his family at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. He was born October 6, 1948; the son of the late Harry J. and Mary Belle (Whitmer) Campbell. Harry married Janice Stoehr on September 27, 1997; she passed on November 9, 2020.
Mickey was a true military veteran having proudly served in the United States Army. Upon separating, he returned home working odd jobs until he found his passion and love for truck driving. Mickey spent over 50 years as an over-the-road truck driver logging over 10 million miles. He was a lifetime member of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association. Mickey enjoyed watching and collecting sports and NASCAR memorabilia. He also enjoyed going to the casinos and playing computer games.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Mark) Duprey of Wichita Falls, TX; step-children, Dean (Lisa) Stoehr and Darci (Tim) Miller all of Freeport; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and brothers, Mark Campbell and Tom (Tim Outcault) Campbell all of Freeport. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice; and sister, Patricia Dubs.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
