Obituary

Freeport- William H. "Harry" Snively, 92, of Freeport died Monday, July 30, 2007, at his home. Born June 5, 1915 in Pecatonica he was the son of William and Gertrude Violet (Stilwell) Snively. He and Theda Phillips were married February 4, 1956 at her family home in Pearl City. After farming in the Pecatonica area for more than 40 years, he developed a wanderlust and lived in Missouri, Arizona, Oregon, and Texas, where he owned and operated his own businesses, including garages, service stations, and convenience stores.
He is survived by his wife Theda of Freeport; two daughters Carolyn Stewart of Lena, Martha Haas of Washington D.C.; four grandchildren Michelle (James) Anderson of Houston, TX, Kim (Brandon) Sparks of Katy, TX, Craig (Sarah) Stewart of Monona, WI, Shannon (Bryan) Fong of Sun Prairie, WI; seven great grandchildren Jesse, Craig, Joshua, Isaac, Alyssa, Aidan and Katherine; one nephew Bruce Snively of Rockford; and his faithful poodle Toby.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Walker Mortuary and Cremation Services, Freeport with Brian Phillips officiating.
A memorial gathering will be 10:00 am Thursday until the time of service.
A memorial has been established in his name.
