Obituary

Freeport-Harry C. Spahr, 82, of Freeport, died Saturday November 29, 2003 at Freeport Memorial Hospital.
Born November 20, 1921 in Freeport he was the son of Henry C. and Hattie M. (Schroeder) Spahr. He married Patricia Munda in 1940 and she died September of 1979. He married Audrey J. Klaus Siegmeier February 27, 1981.
He worked at Micro Switch for 29 years retiring in June of 1985.
He was a member and past Elder of Immanuel Lutheran Church. A World War II Navy veteran, he was a Radar Man First Class, serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of the VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey of Freeport; one daughter, Marcia Spahr of Freeport; one son, Jeffrey L. (Gayle) Spahr of Baileyville; two step-daughters, Karen (David) Manson and Gale (Robert) Stone both of Freeport; grandchildren, Theresa (Richard) Murphy of Quaker Hills, Conn., Patrick Spahr of Champaign, and Scott Spahr of Lena; step-grandchildren, Nicholas Stone of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Daniel (Hilary Truttman) Stone, Laura Manson, and Jon Manson all of Freeport; great grandchild, Jessica Murphy; step-great grandchild, Adeline Stone; one sister, Marcella M. Popp of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Patricia; one nephew, James Popp.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Willis Schwichtenberg and Vicar Brad Klein officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for the Leonard Ferguson Cancer Center and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
