Harry E. Strohecker Jr., 82, of Freeport, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Freeport Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Born April 7, 1927 in Freeport he was the son of Harry E. and Jenny (Fogel) Strohecker Sr. He married Nadine Bussian August 3, 1946.
Harry was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II and the Korean War.
Harry farmed the family farm, owned and operated Ace Window Cleaning for over 20 years, and was a DeKalb Seed salesman for 37 years.
Harry was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Surviving is his wife, Nadine of Freeport; 2 sons, Michael (Karen) Strohecker of Pearl City and Mark (Andrea) Strohecker of Hayward, California; 2 sisters, Betty Johnson of Pearl City and Katherine Kuhlemeier of Lena; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Jane George and Doris Chambers.
Funeral service will be Thursday 11 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Keith Johnson of First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
Memorials have been established for First Lutheran Church and Pearl City American Legion.
