Freeport – Hazel Louise Peace, 95 of Freeport passed away on September 3, 2024 at Mercy Health in Janesville, WI.  She was born on October 20, 1928 in Bartonville, IL to the late Fred and Anna (Snyder) Anderson.  She married James Peace on February 12, 1946 in Palmyra, MO.  She retired from customer service at Swiss Colony.  Hazel enjoyed working in her flower gardens and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Sandra (Mike) Fisher of Rockton, IL; Lynn Schleich of St. John's FL; Patrick (Jane) Peace of Pinehurst, NC; Mark (Mary) Peace of Loves Park, IL; Jaime (Darryl) Busser of Pearl City, IL; Matthew (Lori) Peace of Freeport; Michael (Zulema) Peace of Champaign, IL; Rebecca (Joe) Conder of Delavan, WI and Gregory (Lacey) Peace of Delavan, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James; one son, David Peace and 3 brothers.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Walker Mortuary beginning at 10:30am followed by a service at 11:30am.  Her final resting place will be at Oakland Cemetery next to her husband.  A memorial has been established in her name for the Friends Forever Humane Society in Freeport.  Condolences can be shared with the family at www.walkermortuary.com .
