Hazen E. (Woody) Weier passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Woody was born in Freeport, IL on May 4 ^th , 1935 to Robert and Bertha Weier.  He graduated from Freeport Sr. High school in 1953.  He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy.  He married Carol J. Rickert on June 6 ^th , 1959 in Freeport.  During his career he worked as an accountant at King Seely Thermos (Structo), Treasurer at Western States Insurance Company and retired after 18 years with the United States Department of Defense as a contract auditor.

Woody was passionate about figure skating.  He was a member of the United States Figure Skating Association as a figure skating referee and judge for over 40 years.  He was also a member of the Freeport Kiwanis Club. He volunteered countless hours at Bethany United Church of Christ where he and Carol were members for over 59 years.  He also volunteered for veteran's organizations, The Boy Scouts of America, as an election judge for Stephenson County and was well known for driving the Veteran's Van.

He is survived by his wife Carol and three children, Timothy R. Scanlon of Chatham, IL, Jaime (Paul) DiMarino of Peabody, MA, Marc (Sharon) Weier of Phoenix, AZ.  Three grandchildren, Paul DiMarino Jr. of Exeter, NH, Nicholas DiMarino of Peabody, MA, Corey R. Metz of Chicago, IL, and two great grandchildren.
