Helen J. (Allen) Kelly, 89, of Oakley Courts Freeport passed away Monday, January 5, 2015. Born April 22, 1925 in rural Milledgeville she was the daughter of Orville and Clara (Ostick) Allen. In June of 1941 she and Edwin Noll were united in marriage and he preceded her in death in 1944. She then married Harold Kelly on September 12, 1945 and he also preceded her in death on September 7, 2006. She was a graduate of Milledgeville High School and then Chicago School of Music. She and Harold owned and operated Paneling Unlimited in Freeport. Helen was a member of Milledgeville Brethren Church, VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and played piano for the VFW Auxiliary for twenty years. Surviving are her children Mickey (James) Jewell of San Antonio, TX, Joann Shafer of Monroe, WI, Catherine Kelly of San Antonio, TX, Mark (Caralee) Kelly of Schaumburg, IL, Rosanne (Jim Roth) Kelly of Yorkville, IL; ten grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister Ann Millhouse of Polo. Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands; sister's Eva Simpson, Villetta Brundage; brother Orville Allen. Visitation will be Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, followed by a service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at the Fairmount Cemetery in Polo.
