Henry R. Heilemeier, 80 of Rock Grove died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Born April 1, 1933 he was the son of Simon and Julia (Minick) Heilemeier. Henry was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea from 1951-1954. He was a loving husband for almost 60 years; on June 1, 1953 he and Alma McMillian were united in marriage at Columbus, IN. He was a member of Laurel Street Community Church. Henry enjoyed fishing, camping, mowing and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of Rock Grove, stepson Michael McMillian; seven daughters Julia (Wayne) Meinert, Cathy Greenfield, Belinda (Rodney) Adams, Melody Heilemeier, Rebecca Keister, Alma (Gary) Sadewater, Evelyn (Michael) Zimmerman; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, special niece and caregiver Janet Knight, many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, one son Henry Jr, one daughter Tammie, one granddaughter Sember, three brothers and six sisters. Visitation will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Laurel Street Community Church, 1835 W. Laurel Street, Freeport. Memorial services will be Saturday 1 p.m. at the church with Reverend Dennis Jarrard officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established in his name.
