Fitchburg, WI – Hollie Sellman, 88 formerly of  Freeport,  passed away peacefully on 12-29-2023 in Fitchburg, WI.

Hollie was born in Freeport, Illinois on 8-7-1935 to Gomer and Edith (Armstrong) Sellman.

Hollie was a graduate of Aquin HS class of 1953 and was a great football and basketball player, achieving MVP in football.

Hollie was married to Patricia (Meyer) Sellman on 12-21-1954 at Cedarville United Methodist Church.  He served in the US Army from April 1954- April 1956.  He worked at Micro Switch Honeywell for 41 years.  He was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Freeport.

Hollie was an avid fisherman, woodworker, cross country skier and he loved camping.  He was a great card player and had a great sense of humor.

Hollie is survived by his wife of 69 years, Patricia (Meyer) Sellman of Fitchburg, WI.  His children, Susan Pope of Anthem, AZ; Todd Sellman (Diane Lauver) of Fitchburg, WI and Laurie Dittmar of  Randolph, WI.  His legacy includes 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Hollie was preceded in death by his parents, 4 siblings and 2 son-in-laws.

He forged a valiant battle against Parkinson's disease for 20 year.  His family would like to thank the staff at Agrace Hospice and Senior Helpers who provided comfort and support.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name for the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Research Foundation and the First United Methodist Church of Freeport, IL.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 beginning at 10:30 am and a service to immediately follow at 11:30am all at Walker Mortuary in Freeport, IL.
