Ida M. DeBoer, age 89, of Florence Station, IL passed away peacefully in Rockford, IL on June 11, 2025.

Ida was born in Rockford, IL on May 31, 1936 to Vernon and Roberta (Thompson) Griffin. She attended Freeport High School. Ida married Frank E. DeBoer in Iowa on May 1, 1954, and together they had 4 children, Tina, twins Terry and Kerry, and Frank. She worked at Burgess Battery, Newell, and finally retired from Freeport School District in 2000. She enjoyed spending time outside in her yard, and was known to have bonfires after cleaning up sticks! She boasted that she hadn't watched much TV in 10 years and spent much of her free time doing word search puzzles and reading books. She loved following all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren's hobbies and sports, often seen on the sidelines cheering them on. Ida was also a proud and very active member of the Silver Creek Museum and was frequently seen working around the museum grounds as soon as the spring weather broke. She was named the Stephenson County Antique Engine Club Queen in 2010.

Ida is survived by her 4 children Tina (Kevin) Wilkens, Terry (Julene) DeBoer, Kerry (Michelle) DeBoer of Freeport, and Frank (Nia) DeBoer of Deltona, Florida, 8 grandchildren Josh (Stephanie) Snyder, Jessie (Jake) Ernst, Heather (Brad) Olson, Austin (Hayleigh) DeBoer, Cory DeBoer, Kyle (Lynn) DeBoer, Frankie DeBoer, and Jackie DeBoer, and 12 great grandchildren Deacon, Amelia, Hunter, William, Griffin, Raelyn, Rosalie, Fletcher, Braxton, Paisley, Colter, and Colt. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank E. DeBoer and parents Roberta and Vernon Griffin.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 10:30am - 11:30am at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. A service will immediately follow from 11:30am - 12:30pm. A graveside burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, on Pearl City Rd. following all services. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
