Ida M. Stykel, 73, of Freeport passed into heaven after an extended illness on January 31, 2011. Ida was born on May 25, 1937 in rural German Valley, Illinois to Willis and Mildred (Kuntzelman) Jacobs. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Stykel, on April 29, 1955. Ida was a former member of Community Reformed Church, was a homemaker while her children were young, and then worked at FS Farmtown and later Rite-Way Furniture & Appliance.
