Irene W. Bush, 80, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, formerly of Freeport, went to be with the lord on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015. Born October 14, 1935 in Burlington, Iowa she is the daughter of Clarence and Wilma (Wallentine) Pfadenhauer. In May of 1955 she and Robert J. Bush were united in marriage in Des Moines, IA. She served along his side during 50 years in the ministry which took her to Casper, WY; Carpentersville, IL; and Freeport, IL. She served as a church bookkeeper and did administrative work for the Open Bible Daycare and Learning Center. She also served the music department as an organist and pianist. In 2006, Robert passed away at the age of 72. Irene served as a volunteer at Freeport Memorial Hospital before moving to Tennessee in 2012. She enjoyed meeting new friends, volunteering at her church, and spending time with family.
Surviving are her three children, Randal J. Bush (Linda) of Freeport, Kevin N. Bush (Lea) of Nashville, TN, and Karen S. Kevern (Doug) of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren Alyssa L. Bush of Freeport, Kelsey M. Monks (Austin) of Denver, CO, and Jenna L. Sapp (Vincent) of Atlanta, GA; and three step-grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Lyle (Matthew) and Lauren N. Kevern of Charleston, SC and Ryan C. Kevern of Nashville, TN; one brother, Roger C. Pfadenhauer (Joanne) of Pella, IA, and two sisters, Sharon M. Welker of Des Moines, IA and Elda V. Schweikle (Gerald) of Mt. Juliet, TN.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband.
There will be a gathering of family and friends 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Walker Mortuary.
Private burial will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Samaritan's Purse in Irene's name.
