Freeport – Irma Garnett Carlson, 85 of Freeport died on Saturday at Walnut Acres.  She was born on September 12, 1935 to Eladio A. and Zoila (Danache) Garnett in San Benito, TX.  She graduated in 1955 in San Benito, TX.  She entered the US Navy in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1959.  She married Howard W. Carlson on September 6, 1959.

Surviving are her son, Lee Carlson and daughter Deanna Carlson both of Freeport, IL.  Her brothers, Arnold (Mary) Garnett of San Benito, TX and Ray (Liza) Garnett of Marlin, TX as well as three nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband.  Per Irma's request there will be no services following cremation.  Burial will be in Iron River Michigan next to her husband.
