Obituary
Freeport-Irma L. Roemer, 93, of Freeport, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born July 7, 1911 in New Briton, SD she was the daughter of Elmer and Frances (Schaaf) Bowers. She married Homer Stebbins in September 1930 and he died in 1966. She married Al Roemer in 1975 and he preceded in death.
She worked at Kresges in downtown Freeport for 30 years.
Surviving is her daughters, Virginia Jansen of Freeport, Joyce (Douglas) Wilkes of Fallon, NV, and Shirley (John) Hand of Warsaw, Indiana; 2 sons, James Stebbins of Freeport and Gary (Pat) Stebbins of Urbana; half brother, Merle Bowers of Lanark; 6 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sister; ½ brother; and ½ sisters.
Funeral service will be Monday 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
