Irma C. Ware, 79, of Freeport, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born February 21, 1933 in Creston, Iowa she was the daughter of Jacob and Stella (Putz) McElroy. She married Homer Ware August 18, 1956 in Milo, Iowa.
Irma worked with her husband at Homer Ware's Photography studio doing all the artwork. She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds at Apple Canyon Lake, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Surviving is her husband, Homer of Freeport; her sons, Bill (Jody) Ware of Mundelein, Micheal (Geraldine) Ware of Shullsburg, WI, Gregory Ware of Freeport; his daughters, Mary M. Ware of Freeport, Jenice (Mark) Jacobs of Cedarville, and Julie (Jon)Pick of Rockford; her brother, Eldon (Joan) McElroy of Indianola, IA; her sister, Carolyn (Tom) Weaver of Cedarville; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carolyn, and one sister, Joann.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Entombment of her cremated remains will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name at Provena St Joseph to benefit the Adult Daycare Program.
