Freeport
Irvin E. Hornung, 82, of Freeport, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Born April 15, 1933, in Freeport he was the son of Raymond and Esther (Sawtelle) Hornung. He married Carol Phillips July 1, 1951, and she died December 8, 2015.
He and his wife owned and operated Irvin Motors for over 45 years and in retirement opened Yesterday's Antiques.
He and his wife enjoyed attending auctions and flea markets.
Surviving are his children, Dawn (David) Reed of Cedarville, Randall (Debra) Hornung of Freeport, and Todd (Laura) Hornung of Freeport; his brother, Richard (Althea) Hornung of Cedarville; his grandchildren, Christopher (Michele) Hornung, Chad Hornung, Carianne (Chad) Thrasher, Tamara (Brent) Ackerman, Kristin Hornung, Jenna (Pastor Blake) Canterbury, and McKenna Reed; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and an infant brother.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Walker Mortuary.
There will be a gathering for friends and relatives 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Walker Mortuary.
Internment of his cremated remains will be in the Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum.
