Irvin Milo Seuring, 97, of Baileyville, died at home April 15, 2017. He was born May 12, 1919, in Dakota, IL to Richard and Minnie (Schroeder) Seuring. On August 6, 1946, he married Dorothy Wales.

Irvin attended Cranes Grove School in Baileyville and was self-educated in many respects. He started farming with his father and moved to Florence Station where he began farming with Dorothy after their marriage. They later moved back to the home farm in Baileyville. Farming was his passion and he possessed a strong work ethic. Upon retirement, Irvin took up woodworking. He cut out and painted numerous figurines which he took pride in giving to family and friends. His love of farming turned to gardening and mowing the lawn. Irvin served on the Forrestville Valley School District, Forreston State Bank, Stephenson Service Company and Cranes Grove Cemetery Association boards for several years. He was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church where he served on various committees and the Stephenson County Farm Bureau.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; sons, Gene (Patricia) Seuring of Rockford, Rodney (Karen) Seuring of Baileyville; daughter, Teresa (Chad) Hageman of Caledonia; grandchildren, Douglas (Susan) Seuring of Carmel, IN, Michael (Jennifer) Seuring of Chicago, Wendy (Jon) Ralston of Denver, CO, Kathy Holtze of Winfield and Adam Hageman of Chicago; 9 great grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Myrna Seuring.

Preceding him in death were son, Randall Seuring; brothers, Lowell Seuring and Myron Seuring; sister, Nelda Zipse and grandson, Steven Seuring.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Stephenson County Farm Bureau, 210 W. Spring St., Freeport , with Pastor Kathleen Brinkmeier officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at the Cranes Grove Cemetery, Baileyville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Florence United Methodist Church, Cranes Grove Cemetery Association or Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Heartland Hospice and Pastor Kathleen Brinkmeier for their care and compassion.
