Ivan M. Wise, age 88 of Dakota, IL, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. He was born October 13, 1930; the son of the late Merle and Laverne (Yeoman) Wise. He was a 1948 graduate of Dakota High School. Ivan married Francis Anderson on April 3, 1954.

He was a lifelong farmer and had served in the United States Army, stationed in France during the Korean War. He was a member of the Dakota Community Church. He was an avid cubs fan and loved farming and playing with his kids.

He is survived by his wife, Francis Wise of Dakota; sons, Todd (Laura) Wise of Dakota and Frank (Kristina) Wise of St. Cloud, FL; daughter, Debra (Roger) Brinkmeier of Dakota; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Elaine) Wise of Dakota and Carl (Sharon) Wise of MO; and sister, Dorothy (Dave) Phillips of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald and Lester; and sister, Joyce Zipsie.

A private family graveside service will take place at the Dakota Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
