Freeport - Jack Boyer, 87 passed away with his family at his side on July 7th, 2020 in Freeport. He was born December 23rd, 1932 to Otis and Mildred (Pontnack) Boyer. He married Darlene Fairclough Sept 5, 1952.
A Korean War Veteran, he served in the Army from January 1953 to January of 1955. He was a member of Open Bible Church Freeport. He loved to preach. He also helped at the hospital with the Clergy services and he collected Structo trucks.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; his daughters, Kathy (Elwyn) Wenzel of Florida, Brenda (Paul) Brown of Washington, Cheri (Jerry) Tempel of Freeport, and Liz (Forrest) Senn also of Freeport; his son, Keith "Butch" Boyer of Freeport; as well as 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and his brother, Greg Wissmach.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Boyer, Lyle Miller, Neal Speers, Sheldon Speers; and sisters, Doris Bilodeau and Marilyn Doty.
Services will be Saturday, July 11th with a visitation beginning at 9:30am at Open Bible followed by a service at 11:00 am also at Open Bible with the Reverend Burliss Parker officiating. A memorial has been established in his name.
