James W. Brant, 59, of Freeport, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born October 6, 1952 in Jacksonville, Illinois he was the son of Wayne and Audrey (Peters) Brant.
James graduated from Freeport High School. He spent 9 years in the United States Air Force. He worked for Mitek and then Micro Switch.
Surviving are his parents, Audrey (Bernie Sr.) Spradlin of Thomson, Illinois; 3 brothers, John, and Mark Brant, and Bernie Jr. "Sport" (Peggy) Spradlin all of Freeport; his sister in-law, Penny Brant of Monroe, Wisconsin; several aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends, the Tallmans.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Brant; his brothers, Ron and Richard Brant; and his uncle and aunt, Robert (Ronita) Peters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 at Walker Mortuary. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday 12 noon until time of service at the Walker Mortuary.
