James Endriss , age 79 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport. He was born on May 15, 1940; the son of the late Lee and Myrtle Endriss. He married Nellie ("Penny" Love) Endriss on September 10, 1966; she passed on November 17, 2018.

James served in the United States Army, stationed in Korea. He had worked at several places in the Freeport area including FHN Memorial Hospital, Burgess Battery, Kelly Springfield, and he also drove school bus. He was a member of the Freeport VietNow. His favorite hobby was operating HAM Radio and he loved watching wrestling.

He is survived by his step-son, Greg Love of Freeport; sister-in-law, Alice Brattrud of Freeport; and various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nellie; and brother, George.

A service will be held on Monday, June 10 ^th at 12:00 p.m. in the Mausoleum at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport with a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
