James (Jim) F. Kneller 66, of Freeport passed away peacefully at home Saturday July 10, 2021. He was born December 6, 1954 to Joseph and Ruth (Kiefer) Kneller. He attended Freeport schools and was employed by Micro Switch/ Honeywell for 36 years. Jim loved to go fishing with longtime friend BJ Horton and was quite knowledgeable in repairing small electronics and setting up computers for relatives and friends. He would spend hours plotting relatives and friend's locations on Google Earth and also their locations when flying in an aircraft. Jim watched videos on new technology and thoroughly loved all western and comedy movies and was a huge Star Trek fan. Jim is survived by sisters June (April) Grammont of Westminster, Maryland and Gail Jean (George) Beard of Freeport, nieces and nephews Debbie Derbak of Westminster, Maryland and Cheryl Wrenn of Sykesville, Maryland, Melodie Grammont, Simi Valley, California, Mike Beard of San Antonio, Texas, Dwight Beard of Freeport and Brenda Wilson of Hammond, Indiana. A graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery, 2436 IL-26 (Route 26 north Freeport) on Friday August 6, 2021 at 11AM. A reception will follow at First Church of Nazarene, 125 E. Empire, Freeport, Illinois in the Fellowship Hall. The parking lot entrance is on Carroll St. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
