Freeport-James F. Herold, 70, of Freeport, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born August 1, 1936 in Freeport he was the son of Christian and Lucinda (Lange) Herold. He married Charlene Stingley September 30, 1991 in Freeport.
James was a local roofer for many years.
He was a Marine Corp veteran. He was an avid NASCAR and Bears Fan.
Surviving is his wife, Charlene of Freeport; daughters, Kay Lynn Al-Yasiri, Teresa (Kenneth) Felton, Jamie Carey, Lisa Ottenhausen, Tina (Chris) Hendrickson all of Freeport; his son, James Herold Jr. of Freeport; his step-son, Rick (Nessa) Bonnell of Mt. Carroll; his step-daughter, Tammy Crowghost of Sioux Falls, SD; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.; sisters, Linda (Bob) Capion, Sara (Gordon Oehl) Cox, Carolyn (Dale) Lapp, and Margaret (Dale) Gill all of Freeport, Barbara (Jim) Moyer of Belvidere, and Katherine (Keith) Taylor of Tacoma, WA; brothers, Joe Herold of Freeport and Bill (Jean) Herold of Pearl City;
He was preceded in death by his parents 2 sisters; 1 brother; and 1 granddaughter.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial Luncheon will be held Saturday December 9, 2006 at the Freeport Moose from 11a.m. to 4 p.m.
