James R. Vincent, age 75 of Freeport, IL, passed away at FHN Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 15, 2020. He was born May 12, 1945; the son of the late Charles and Edith (Bere) Vincent. He married Deloris Bahe on July 4, 1976.

James served in the United States Army, Corps of Engineers in Vietnam. He was worked at Silver Springs Attraction, Martin Marietta, and Snak King in maintenance. James enjoyed new adventures including motorcycle riding, traveling, parasailing, skydiving, scuba diving, and tae kwon do. He also loved family gatherings and reunions, barbecues, relaxing on the patio and wood crafting. Above all else, he enjoyed doing anything with his wife, Deloris, she was his world.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris Bahe-Vincent; Children: Stephanie Vincent, Frank Vincent, Brian Laman, Tanya Griggs; grandchildren: Dylan, Logan, Zay, Brett, Mercedes, Alexis, Sydney, Shelby, Amanda, Deloris, Levi; great grandchildren: Jacob, Warren, Ava, Allen; sister, Betty Becke; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Edith; grandson: Dalton; and siblings: Edwin, Frank, Richard, Lois, Gerry, and Pam.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Freeport with a private family committal. There will be a Memorial service at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com .
