Janet C. Bausman, age 85 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was born June 2, 1936 in Muscatine, IA; the daughter of the late Elmer and Joyce (Wardle) Swanson. Janet married Darryl Bausman on August 17, 1958; he passed on September 22, 2016.

She taught at Aquin and for Freeport School District 145. She was a member of Harmony UMC in Freeport where she sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Freeport Choral Society. She was a Rainbow Girl and Job's Daughter. Janet enjoyed traveling, tending to her flower garden, and going to Timber Lake Play house. She loved playing tennis, volleyball and bridge. She was also an avid Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all she cherished her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn S. (Gregg) Marshall of Loudon, TN, Todd A. (Paula) Bausman of Hoffman Estates, and Bruce C. (Luann) Bausman of Freeport; grandchildren, Kelsey (Kory) Wheat, Chad Cummins, Brooke (Todd) Reno, Ryan Bausman, and Ashley Bausman; great grandchildren, Aubree and Liam Wheat; and sister, Marilyn Hartman of Davenport, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Darryl.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 9 ^th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 10 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at Harmony United Methodist Church in Freeport. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport.
