Dakota: Janice L. Goodrich, 65, died Wednesday January 7, 2009 surrounded by her family at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born June 17, 1943 in Freeport she was the daughter of Roy and Carol (Cone) Harvey. On September 7, 1963 she married Gene Goodrich in Freeport. Janice drove school bus for the Dakota School district for over 28 years she also was an EMTI for Tri District Ambulance for 20 years and worked for Walmart for 8 years. She was an avid fisherman, loved to crochet and knit, dinners with the "61 Ladies" and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Gene; 3 daughters, Teresa (Scott) Zettle of Freeport, Niccole (Dan) Riemer of Dakota, and Michelle Goodrich of Pecatonica; 1 brother, Michael (Kathy) Harvey of Cibalo, TX; 1 sister Dana Kraus of Rockford; 6 grandchildren, Carrie Zettle of Freeport, Matthew Zettle of Monroe, WI, McKenzie Riemer of Dakota, McKayla Riemer of Dakota, Angelica Jacobs of Freeport and Whitney Jacobs of AZ; 2 Great Grand daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held Saturday 11:00 am at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home 115 S. West St. Dakota, IL with the Reverend Dennis V. Buss officiating. A memorial gathering will be held Friday from 4-7 pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
