Freeport – Jean E. Waller, 89 of Freeport passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Ascension Center in Freeport on January 11, 2023.  She was born on February 9, 1933 in Freeport to the late William and Dora (Messman) Nielander.  She married George Waller on September 20, 1997 after 35 years of courtship.  He died February 6, 2009.

She was a member of Indian Grove Church in Rock City.   She enjoyed hosting dinner parties, Christmas gatherings with family, playing Bingo in her later years as well as reading and traveling.  She will be remembered as a woman with a big heart.

She is survived by her sons, William Trimble of Monroe, WI and David Trimble of Muscatine, IA.  Her legacy includes 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her sisters, June Schlueter and Joyce Last.

Services will be on Monday, January 16, 2023 with a visitation beginning at 9:30am at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota.  The service will immediately follow at 11am also at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
