Jeanette Miller, 95, of Freeport, died Monday, September 15, 2014.
She was born August 21, 1919 to Jesse and Hazel (Woods) Weckerly. On June 27, 1939 she married Frederick Miller. He preceded her in death in 1971. They had one daughter, Janice Okey, of Freeport.
Jeanette worked at Kraft Foods until she and Freddie got married. She also worked at JC Penney and then 27 years at Micro Switch retiring in 1978.
She was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Church, served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher and was a member of the church board. She was a member of Micro Switch 25 year Club and Pricilla Club for over 60 years.
She is survived by her daughter Janice (Lee) Okey; sisters, Betty Fenton and Naomi Hughs of Freeport; and Vita Ferry of Michigan; grandchildren, Lori (David) Rundall of Cedarville, Dave Okey of Los Angeles, CA and Douglas Okey and his wife Susie Mathews of Peoria, IL.; great grandchildren, Audrey of Peoria, Katie of Mulberry Grove, IL, and Sarah of San Francisco and seven great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and her good friend, Faye "Tub" Knodle.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eileen, three brothers Bradley, Robert and Lee.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
