Freeport – Jeffery Murphy, 61 of Freeport passed away at Pearl Pavilion after a brief illness.  Jeff was born to Dale and Vickie (Kennard) Murphy on August 7, 1960 in Bartlesville, OK.

He graduated from Freeport High School in 1982.  He was a part of the Eagle Scout Troop #19, was an assistant Scout Master, a special Olympian, A Sci- Fi fan, and a Kansas City Chiefs fan.  He loved to help in the kitchen, especially at the holidays.  He loved to travel every chance he got. He was a hard worker at Malcom Eaton Enterprises and he was always willing to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his Care Giver/Guardian, Alria (the late Charles) Warner "Mom" of Freeport; special friends Johnnie Jackson of Freeport and Judy Richards of Rockford; brother Justin (Jessica) Cole of Beloit, WI; Sisters, Marla (Chris) Murphy Kenney of Florida; Dena Murphy of Rockford, Il.

He is preceded in death by his birth parents.

Services will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at the Chapel on Saturday, March 19 ^th with a viewing beginning at 10:30am and a service to follow immediately after beginning at 11am.  A memorial has been established in his name for the Boy Scouts of America and Malcom Eaton Enterprises.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com .
