Obituary

Jeffery A. Reuber, 63, of Ridott, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 24, 1950 in Freeport he was the son of Warren and Ruth (Noltemeier) Reuber.
He married Jane Schriver September 3, 1972 in Freeport.
He graduated from Freeport High School and received an Agriculture Education Degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign Urbana.
Jeff was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He served with the 101 Airborne Artillery from August 1970 until March of 1972.
He was a teacher at Burlington Central High School and Mid Valley Area Vocational School. He was then a Agriculture Mechanic for Read Brothers Implement. Then he farmed the family farm and three close neighbors' farms for 30 years.
Jeff had a part time job every January with Black Hawk Farm Business Farm Management interacting with area farmers as they turned in their annual record book.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Jane of Ridott; his daughter Elizabeth (Joseph) Duhn of Rockford; his sisters Barbara Lynch of Sycamore and Kathy (Brian) Holste of Rock City; his brothers Steven (Christy) Reuber and Bill (Becky) Reuber both of Freeport, and David (Valerie) Reuber of Pearl City; his grandson Kiernan Jeffery Duhn of Rockford; his sister-in-law Katy (Ed) Hansen of Park Ridge; his mother-in-law Jane Schriver of Rockford; his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother in-law Van Lynch; and father-in-law Reverend Eldon Schriver.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
There will be a gathering for family and friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 and 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Faith United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Faith United Methodist Church with Reverend John Wesley Lee officiating.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
