Freeport: Jessie I. DeFranco, 89, of Freeport died Monday August 15, 2005 at Freeport Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Born January 10, 1916 in Hanover, IL she was the daughter of Thomas and Eleanor (Potter) Turner. She married James J. DeFranco June 12, 1937 in Chicago. He preceded her on death in June 22, 1984. Jessie worked for Economy Insurance Company for many years retiring in the mid 1980's. Surviving is her son Ron DeFranco of San Diego, CA and one sister Phyllis (Marion) Schiable of Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Walker Mortuary with the Reverend Douglas Q. Bowden officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service at the Mortuary. A private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Hanover, IL. A memorial has been established in her name.
